Summary:
Triple A Fire Protection has been in business for 40 years.
We are currently seeking an individual to join our design team.
The successful candidate would be responsible for operating with minimal supervision while completing project designs and submittals in addition to other assignments such as stocklisting, coordination, and contact with project architects and engineers.
Expected to be very familiar with NFPA 13 and standard requirements from State and local AHJ.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

) Strong working knowledge of fire sprinkler codes.
NICET III or above REQUIRED.
NICET IV preferred.
Design automatic sprinkler systems including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
Perform hydraulic calculations for each design.
Prepare submittal packages to send to (AHJ) Authority Having Jurisdiction and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval.
Preparation of fabrication lists for pipe fabrication as well as vendor and requisition materials for job.
Capable of performing field surveys to ensure design is appropriate for structure including flow tests.
Assist field personnel with design related installation issues.
Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High School diploma, BA, BS, or engineering degree or approximately four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Strong working knowledge of personal computers and drafting software such as AutoCad.
Knowledge of the hydraulic program Sprinkcad required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and write clearly.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and the general public verbally and electronically.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Design Manager while working closely with project and construction manager(s).
